I actually know Evelyn personally and work for her in her Ice Cream shop and Cafe. She owned the first two coffee bars in Banff before she and Don (her husband) moved to my small town. Evelyns Memory Lane Cafe is well known in Alberta for their homemade Ice Cream and great food! My best Evelyns story is ongoing since the day I began working there. Evelyn and Don are both the sweetest and most gracious people I've ever had the pleasure of meeting let alone working for. Every day I look forward to going to work just because I get to work side by side with Evelyn making her Roast Chicken sandwiches. Plus having free lunch there is a fantastic bonus! :)

We live in California and every Winter we vacation in Banff for one week. Each day we go to a different Evelyn's location for great coffee, food, and conversation. The baristas are excellent and friendly.
We bring our children, grandchildren, and friends with us. Our Evelyn Coffee mugs and thermos have travelled the world. People often ask us about the animals and map on the thermos. Our response is, "You haven't tasted coffee until you go to Evelyn's."

I had a group of high school students up for the 2011 Rocky Mountain Festival. We arranged to have lunch provided by Evelyn's. It was FANTASTIC! ALL of the kids raved about the sandwiches, particularly the bread! Those that received the Health Sandwich for lunch were amazed (and delighted) to find hummus as the protein in the sandwich. Some members of the group even went to stop by one of the shops while we were walking around Banff Avenue. While there, your granola bars were discovered by one of our chaperones. She was kind enough to share, and then had the rest of us on the hunt for any that may have been left in any of your three stores. (I know what I'll be searching for the next time I'm in Banff!) Thanks for taking the time to produce quality products for your customers.

I graduated in 2006 (I know that makes me old now) That year as a grad trip we all decided to go to banff on a ski/snowboarding trip. Everyone except myself went out on the hills, I can't ski or snowboard to save my life so I took to walking the town.
Banff is by far one of the best places I have travelled to and in my walking around I stumbled into Evelyn's looking for a cup of coffee. What I found their was not only a GREAT cup of coffee but some of the nicest people anywhere. I ended up going back their twice that first day and everyday we were their (only 3 days but still) Upon leaving I needed a souvenir to mark my trip. Where else could I go, I went back to Evelyn's to get a travel mug. It is still one of my favourite mugs even though it is old and as I am typing this It is on my desk next to me filled with tea to keep me company.
Thanks for the great memories and the great cup of coffee!

The sign first caught my eye, Evelyn was the name of my Grandma. I snapped a picture with my cell phone and sent it to my mom - it made our day! I didn't have enough time to visit but on my return to Banff a couple of weeks later I was in need of a coffee shop to catch up on some work. My memory sparked me (or maybe I passed 10 of your other shops on my way) and I headed in to possibly the nicest staff and best coffee I've had in Alberta!
Evelyn's is always a reccommendation to anyone who loves coffee and is headed into Banff.

Can't wait to smell the coffee aroma again this summer!

Hello from Texas.....still wearing my favorite t shirt ever. Evelyns Coffee Bar.... The local watering hole with all your wonderful wild life pictured on the front. My husband and I were there at your original location many years ago. We were on a business trip to Calgary and took a side trip to Banf where we found you while looking for a Starbucks. Needless to stay we were pleasantly surprised with your wonderful coffees and lattes. I only wish Texas was closer to Banf we could enjoy you every day. Whenever I think of Canada I automatically think of you all. I probably should order a new T shirt. I have babied mine for years. Thank you for being there and I'm so glad you have expanded. Head south to Texas. :)

I lived in banff for almost 5 years all together. i was one of what we called the evelyns crew. we would sit outside at the small table with 12 to 16 chairs packed around it and drink the pint sized coffees till the sun went down and just have good conversation and watch people. Scott would come down from wild bills with a rope and we would have fun roping tourists and ourselves throughout the day. we had alot of fun outside that little coffee shop and i thank god the servers didnt get to annoyed with us all.

We absolutely love your Apple Pie!!! It has to be the best pie in Banff! We can't wait to go back to Banff, so we eat it again...

I want to share this photo that I took of your coffee cart on the streets of Banff. Hope you like it.

I visited Evelyn's coffee bar earlier this summer with my brother. I reside in Alberta now but he traveled all the way from our home town Quebec city. Being both coffee amateurs, we were thrilled to find Evelyne's to start up our mornings. As we were getting ready to go visit Johnston Canyon, we stopped to grab a Latte at Evelyne's coffee bar. On our way to the canyon, we were both sad at the fact that we had been in the Rocky Mountains for a few days having seen every single animal we could encounter, but no Grizzly bear. One of them must have heard us talking cause after a sharp bend in the road, a Grizzly was about to cross the street! Our wish was granted as he stood there a few seconds and then started to walk towards my car, probably drawn by the scent of fresh coffee! :)

Thanks to the staff at Evelyn's and i'm looking forward to my next visit.

Cheers!
